What style of yoga do you do?

I teach traditional Hatha yoga. It includes work in meditation, sun salutations, strength and balance poses as well as relaxation and restorative poses.

Why are your classes so small?

Coming from my therapy background, I am very concerned that my students not injure themselves. I have taken many large yoga classes where I wasn’t sure I was doing the poses correctly. By keeping my classes small, I can give individualized attention to each person and modify or omit poses as needed.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

No I have mats and props for you to use but you are more than welcome to bring your own supplies. I would suggest bringing a small hand towel to use if you get hot during the session.

What do I wear for my yoga session?

I suggest you wear clothes that you can comfortably stretch in but that hug the body. Shorts should be fitted on the leg and t-shirts should be tucked in.

Should I eat before I come to a yoga class?

It is not recommended that you eat a big meal before yoga. However, if you are the type that needs to eat frequently, I would suggest eating a small snack to keep your energy level up. You should bring water and drink as normal.

What if I have never done yoga before?

No problem, I keep my classes small for that reason. If you are very uncertain, schedule a private session to learn the basics and then you will be ready to join a class.

What if I have an injury?

I will have each new student fill out a medical intake form. Please list any injuries at that time so I can tailor the poses as necessary.
